The competition offers creators around the world an opportunity to share and use their films inspired by NASA photos, allowing curiosity and fostering creative relationships at the intersection of art and science. Entries that include real NASA footage from 60 years of space exploration will be judged on creativity, innovation, and attention to detail. As in previous years,
Filmmakers will be competing for $ 26,000 in cash prizes, with prizes awarded to the top three winners and winners in two special categories: Best Educational Film on Space and Science and Film that Shows Unity and Inclusion in Science.
Filmmakers of all levels of experience are welcome from all over the world to submit their films for consideration. The competition includes all genres including fiction, documentary, comedy, drama, animation, experimental, and more. The films will be submitted to the Tongal content creation platform.
Film entries must be no more than 10 minutes long and contain at least 10 percent of publicly available NASA images. Finalists are selected from among the applications submitted and are reviewed by Richard Linklater, Academy Award® nominee, who awards first, second and third place prizes.

To be eligible, aspirants must meet the specified criteria:

How to apply for a NASA award
