George Mason University offers a one-year Frédéric Bastiat Fellowship to graduates from any university around the world enrolled in any major interested in the field of public policy.

A grant of up to $5,000 is offered that includes:

  • a wage.
  • Cost of reading materials.
  • Travel and accommodation to attend seminars hosted by the Mercatus Centre.

Application criteria

  • To be eligible for admission to the fellowship program, you must be enrolled in a doctoral program at any university and in any specialty.
  • Applications for the fellowship program are open to graduate students enrolled in master’s and doctoral programs in various fields including economics, law, political science, and public policy.
  • Applications are open to students who are able to commit to traveling 3 weekends to attend seminars during the upcoming academic year.
  • Application is open to students who have an interest in public policy and the Mercatus Center for Research and Outreach’s approach to engaging in current debates in the field of public policy.
