The American University in Bulgaria (or AUBG) is a private university located in Blagovgrad, Bulgaria. Founded in 1991, the American University of Beirut has approximately 1,000 students from more than 40 countries on 5 continents (as of Fall 2019). Nearly 50% of students are international.

The American University in Bulgaria is the education leader for the ninth consecutive year according to the 2019 National University Rankings.

The university is the first in the country in the professional fields of administration and management, political science, communications and public information sciences. Conditions for applying for an American University scholarship to study in Bulgaria:

SAT or ACT test certificate (optional)
The AUBG does not require the SAT or ACT for admissions purposes or financial aid; However, the scores may help you waive two AUBG pre-sessional courses: MAT 100 and ENG 100. You can submit your official scores with Collegeboard Institutional Code or ACT - Collegeboard's AUBG is 2451 and 5465 with ACT.
Academic Article:
Write an essay, which will help the AUBG Admissions Committee get to know you, understand your motivations for attending AUBG and determine your ability to express yourself. The essay should be on one of the following topics: Discuss an achievement, event, or realization that led to a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others. Think about a time when you doubted or challenged a belief or idea. What made you think? What was the result?
Your essay should be no more than 650 words. They will be evaluated for clarity, creativity, completeness of response, sentence structure, paragraphs, spelling, grammar, and style.

The last date to apply for the AUC scholarship is November 1
