Edraak platform, in cooperation with Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, offers a free course in alternative energy sources, as the rapid growth in industrialization and overpopulation in the land has led to an increase in energy demand despite the depletion of fossil fuels, the main cause of climate change, global warming and the deterioration of the natural environment day after day day.
This led to a review of energy policies in countries and societies, which reflected on their daily lives. The best solution to this problem is the use of alternative energy sources for fossil fuels. This educational course introduces the various alternative energy systems and their uses for those interested in the field of energy and students of engineering, technology and science. This course will explain the basics of energy and its units with exercises that explain its forms and transformations.
This course explains the principles, design and efficiency of solar thermal energy. Then the principles of wind and hydro power are inquired and simplified by means of exercises. In addition, the course showed the types of photovoltaic energy, its principles, types, design, and its integration with the electricity grid. The course was concluded with an explanation of the principles of fuel cells and alternative energy storage systems.
