About University of Brunei Darussalam
The University of Brunei Darussalam (abbreviation: UBD, Javanese: University Brunei Darussalam) is the oldest university in Brunei, and is the largest university in the country in terms of number of students and academic programmes.
The University of Brunei Darussalam was established in 1985, with 176 male/female students in its first class at the time. Since then, the University of Brunei has witnessed an increase in the number of graduates, a development in academic programs and their comprehensiveness, an update in the infrastructure and the development of postgraduate studies.
The university moved to its current location, on the Tungku Highway, in 1995. The university has eight faculties, nine research centers and six academic service centers ranging from Islamic studies, business, arts and sciences, health sciences, Asian studies, political studies, education, biodiversity and integrated technology.
The scholarship provides international students with a unique opportunity to pursue their academic and research goals and to network extensively with international researchers.
For students from all over the world. At this time, scholarship applications are only open for postgraduate studies (Masters and Doctor of Philosophy level) and closed for studies at the bachelor’s level until the beginning of next year.

There are various scholarships and award programs for this year. The Current Research Postgraduate Scholarship is a fully funded 2021 scholarship that will cover all expenses.
Advantages of University of Dar es Salaam Scholarship 2025
- Full tuition fees, including registration and admission fees to the University of Brunei Darussalam.
- Subsistence allowance of BND 500.00 per month for 36 months. ($375)
- On-campus housing for 36 months.
- For candidates not residing in Brunei Darussalam, one return economy class air ticket will be provided from their home country upon acceptance into the scholarship and to their home country upon completion of their studies.
- Field research allowances (BND 1000.00 for arts and humanities/$750, BND 2000.00 for science candidates $1500)

Qualifications, Terms and Standards
- The applicant must have at least a Bachelor’s degree with first class honors to apply to the Master’s degree programme.
- The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree with second class honors and a Master’s degree with a good publication record from a Ph.D. degree programme.
- High quality and effective research proposal.
