About the University of Groningen
The University of Groningen (Dutch: Rijksuniversiteit Groningen) is a public research university in the Netherlands based in Groningen. It is one of the oldest and largest universities in the Netherlands. Founded in 1614, the university celebrated its fourth centenary in 2014. Currently, the university ranks among the top 100 universities around the world according to four international ranking tables.
In 2019, the University of Groningen ranked 65th in the Academic Ranking of World Universities. In April 2013, the University of Groningen topped the list of the best Dutch universities for the third time in a row.

The University of Groningen includes 11 faculties, which offer programs and courses in the fields of humanities, social sciences, law, economics and business, spatial sciences, life sciences, natural sciences and technology, in addition to the arts.
Each of these faculties is a formal aggregation for educational purposes of a number of academic study programs, schools, institutes, discipline areas and research centers, where each faculty offers bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and exchange programs. While some offer certificates for short courses.
In these colleges, more than 120 master’s programs are taught in English, and 45 bachelor’s programs (35 of them in English).

About the University of Groningen Scholarship
The Groningen of University in the Netherlands offers a set of duplicate scholarships annually to many students from outside the Netherlands who wish to study one of the master’s programs included in the scholarship.
The Eric Bleumink Fund Holland Scholarship from the University of the Netherlands Groningen is an ideal way to obtain a full tuition waiver for the chosen program and financial support to facilitate living while studying in the Netherlands.
- Duration of the Scholarship: The scholarship will be offered for one or two years, depending on the program chosen
Terms and Standards
To be eligible, aspirants must meet the specified criteria:
- Applicants must have received an unconditional and conditional letter of study from the University of Groningen before February.
- Applicants are required to apply to eligible master’s programmes
- The applicant must have excellent academic performance
- Academic excellence performance must be confirmed by letters of recommendation
- English language proficiency
- To have a university degree (Bachelor) to apply for a master’s degree
- Applicants must have a high degree in a bachelor’s degree program
- Applicants must be available for the duration of the one- or two-year program
- Applicants must have good mental and physical health related to their health
- Applicants do not have any other resources to finance their studies

How to Apply for the University of Groningen Scholarship
- Applicants do not have to apply directly for this scholarship.
- Applicants must first apply for an eligible master’s programme. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will be notified by the department.
- The decision will be made by the Admissions Office of the University of Groningen as to which candidate should be nominated for this scholarship.
- Applications for master’s scholarships must be completed before the first of December.
