About the University of Genève:

The University of Genève (French: Université de Genève) is a public research university located in Geneva, Switzerland.

It was founded in 1559 by John Calvin as a theological school. It remained focused on theology until the 17th century, when it became the center of Enlightenment science. In 1873, she renounced her religious affiliations and became officially secular. Today, the university is the third largest in Switzerland by number of students. In 2009, the University of Geneva celebrated its 450th anniversary. Almost 40% of the students come from foreign countries.

The Faculty of Science at the University of Geneva is a leading, internationally recognized research institution.   • Obtained a bachelor’s degree in one of the programs of the Faculty of Science
  • You must enroll in the university in one of the aforementioned programs

Features of the University of Geneva Genève :

The scholarship includes the following benefits:

  • The Excellence Fellowship consists of a grant of 10,000 Swiss francs to 15,000 Swiss francs per year (no teaching assignments)
  • It is awarded for a period of one year and extends the regular duration of the chosen master’s program (three or four semesters) provided that the applicant has been academically successful at the end of the first semester.

How to apply for the University of Geneva Genève Scholarship:

The application is submitted online. After registering, you will receive an email containing a personal link allowing you to fill in the application form.

Required Documents:

  • Scanning the national ID card or passport.
  • Scanning your UNIGE card or if you are not yet a UNIGE student, the central administration mail named “accuse -eption de votre requeste d’immatriculation” (proof that you have started the registration process).
  • A CV (2 pages maximum).
  • A transcript of all grades for passing the bachelor’s stage.
  • A letter of motivation describing your specific scientific interests and motivations for pursuing the Master of Science program at the University of Geneva.
  • If applicable: letters of reference from two professors (preferably sent directly by them to [email protected]) to demonstrate your ability to this program.
  • Any other relevant information such as results of the GRE (General Requirements Examination), TOEFL, or other language tests.
