About the University of Bologna Bologna:

The University of Bologna (Italian: Alma mater studiorum – Università di Bologna, UNIBO) is a research university in Bologna, Italy. Founded in 1088 by an organized union of students (hence the studio), it is the oldest continuously operating university in the world, and the first university in the sense of an institute of higher education and degree-granting, where the word universitas was coined in its founding.

It is one of the most prestigious Italian universities, and is usually ranked first in national, European and international rankings both as a whole and for individual subjects. Since its establishment, it has attracted many scholars, thinkers and students from all over Italy and the world, making it one of the main international centers of learning.

The first place of study was to use the term universitas for student and masters companies, which came to define the institution (especially the famous law school) located in Bologna. The University of Bologna witnessed the first woman to earn a college degree and teach at a university, Bettisia Gozzadini, and the first woman to earn a PhD in science and a salaried position as a university professor, Laura Bassi.

University ranking:

The 2021 QS World University Rankings ranked the University of Bologna 160th in the world, as well as 69th (1st in Italy) with reference to academic reputation.

In the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, it is ranked 167 globally. In the same year’s Impact Ratings, which measure universities’ commitment to sustainable development according to the UN 2030 Agenda, Bologna ranked first in Europe and sixth in the world.

Nationwide, in 2020 Bologna topped Italy’s main ranking of large public universities (> 40,000 students) for the eleventh year in a row, produced by the Italian Center for Social Investment Studies.

About the University of Bologna :

The University of Bologna is offering massive scholarships and tuition fee waivers for international students in Italy. Scholarships are available for the academic year 2021-2022.

The university offers these scholarships to study undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses at the university. Grants are allocated on a SAT and GRE basis, for one academic year.
